Meet Karen

Why I do what I do

Hello!

I’m Karen Feldcher. For over 25 years, I worked in administration, client services, office management, and insurance brokering.

As an insurance broker, I noticed consistent patterns in the health conditions and lifestyle choices of my clients that directly impacted their ability to obtain life and health coverage. Often these factors increased their insurance risk, making it difficult to secure the insurance coverage they wanted and needed at a reasonable price.

This awareness sparked within me a deep interest in holistic health and alternative prevention. Frustrated by the inability to meet my clients’ insurance needs because of their chronic health issues; and inspired by the success of using nutrition and lifestyle practices to recover from my post-cancer surgery, hormone imbalance, chronic inflammation, lower back pain, and debilitating migraines, I embarked upon a significant career change and went back to school to become a certified health and wellness coach.

I initially started applying nutritional changes and alternative health practices to recover from my own debilitating health issues and renew my own sense of wellbeing but have since used these same principles to inspire and empower clients to take charge of and master their own health, ultimately serving as the best form of insurance against the risks of disease.

Areas of Focus

My Scope of Practice

My scope of practice encompasses coaching people to wellness through:

The "4R" approach

My Philosophy

I incorporate a “4R” approach in the roadmap to optimum health:

4r

Rest

Rest is fundamental, serving as the foundation for physical and mental rejuvenation and is crucial for repairing and rebuilding tissues, consolidating memories, and supporting overall cognitive function. It is during rest and sleep that the body undergoes essential processes, contributing to physical recovery and allowing the mind to reset.

Recovery

Recovery isn't just about getting a good night's sleep – it involves things like eating well and tailored to your specific health challenges, staying hydrated, and incorporating and practicing lifestyle techniques that promote deep wellness.

Renewal

Renewal involves engaging in activities that bring joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. Pursuing hobbies, connecting with the earth, spending time in nature, and fostering meaningful connections with the Divine and each other are proven to reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure, and boost the immune system.

Resilience

Resilience is the ability to adapt and bounce back from life's challenges. The process involves adopting lifestyle practices including regular exercise and movement, balanced nutrition and hydration, quality sleep, stress management, and lifestyle practices that strengthen the body's natural defenses and enhance its ability to withstand and recover from various health issues.

Three levels of holistic health

My Process

Through the 4R lens, my process then approaches your health on three levels:

physical body

Physical / Body

For the physical body, we create actionable strategies addressing the four pillars of diet, movement, sleep and stress.

mental mind

Mental / Mind

Because holistic health looks at all aspects of who we are, we continue with the mind which plays a significant role in how healthy we are. By implementing an array of nutritional and lifestyle practices, cognitive decline does not have to be the accepted narrative as we age.

energetic spirit

Energetic / Spirit

Developing an understanding of how our emotions and energy impact us enables us to become “unstuck” and build a positive and confident relationship with our own health.

Finally, I work together with you. We work as a team to create achievable solutions that work for you. I keep it simple, flexible, and attainable.
